Slow cooked ribs in bbq sauce
Course: MainCuisine: AmericanSlow-cooked pork ribs in a sticky BBQ sauce.
Ingredients
2 racks of pork ribs, cut in half
1 packet chipotle dry rub seasoning. I’m using Bart’s.
2 bottles of BBQ sauce or a combination of BBQ and chili sauces.
1 tbsp muscovado sugar
1 tbsp smoked paprika
Directions
- Heat the oven to 160°C
- Pour the BBQ sauce or a combination of BBQ and chili sauces into a large oven-proof dish with a lid.
- Add the sugar and smoked paprika. Adjust seasoning to taste, i.e. add more chili sauce.
- Cover the ribs in the dry rub and arrange in the dish. Cover with a lid and cook for 45mins.
- Take out the ribs from the oven and turn them over in the pot. Put back in the oven for another 45 minutes. Then cook for a further hour, turning them over half-way through.
